Street Fashion

What do you do if you want your latest fashion line to be noticed? Take it to the streets!

Hennes and Mauritz (H&M) recently showcased their latest Kid Fashion by taking 55 kids to a "battle" in Union Square, San Francisco. Its a big and prolly the best marketing move by the company to release the next-big-thing in the fashion line.

I actually love the outfits and also the choreography. Only a bunch of people actually watched it live, but releasing this viral video in the net will guarantee that everyone will surely take notice of the brand.

Japan in 11 minutes

When I was a kid, I loved watching Japan Video Topics in channel 9. Their culture, technology and scenery never ceases to amaze me, leaving an impact not only to me, but to the whole world as well.

The video below gives interesting facts about Japan and its high's and low's about being a Japanese. I don't know how they responded to this, being well known to their pride, but I think this video is meant to give a balanced and informational view on the country and not promoting its tourism.

Still, I want to visit this place; I want to indulge myself in my forever favorite, bento boxes, sumo bowls, video games, and Anime!

Thrilla in Manila [20-Mar-10]

I only see skateboarding shows only in TV, watching X-games and Tony Hawk tours. It was a good thing that I brought my camera yesterday, not knowing there would be a Flip+Volcom tour and skateboard competition near our office.

I noticed a growing number of skateboarders every time I pass by Bonifacio High Street. There would be kids and adults, male and female, practicing their insane tricks and it amazes me how they are really dedicated to master their skills. Every time I see one fail to execute, he/she manages to get up (after a rib crushing fall) and do it again. Well, professional riders have their own flesh ripping and bone wrecking experience before reaching their level.

Flip and Volcom recently held their event, "Thirlla in Manila" showcasing the Flip riders: David Gonzales, Mark Appleyard, Luan Oliveira, Louie Lopez and Willow. I only took pictures of the competition showing the Filipino's homegrown board talents. The contest was really hard because all of them will perform in the "playground" at the same time.

I think the challenge is to really outperform the others.Their normal tricks might also be your secret trick so creativity here really is the key. But winning or not, all of them had a great time. Imagine them performing in front of their idols and gaining new fans; it will really motivate them to improve and reach the next level.
